We find it interesting that we have received a WHOLE lot of emails asking us how to hide the Thank You and Checkout Pages from the normal navigation links. It makes sense, right? You do not want someone clicking on “Thank You” before even making a purchase or adding an item to the shopping cart.
So, how do you hide these pages? It is super easy!
- Download the Exclude pages Plugin (click to download).
- Install the plugin
- Activate it
- Create or edit a page, and enjoy the frisson of excitement as you exclude it from the navigation
Of course if you are using WordPress 3.0 Menus then you do NOT need this plugin at all, just don’t add pages you want hidden to the menu.
Enjoy.
Do we have problem people will find our thank you page at google search engine with this method?
Nope, none at all. It only hides the page from the navigation menu but it is still there
No..I mean even it does not show at navigation menu, is it posible people will find the thank you page at search engine?
I do not think it is possible – because that page would usually contain no content that ranks well in search engines. Also – search engine spiders cannot reach it easily (they have to add items to cart, etc) and so it is not normally visible to bots.
Another useful thing to know would be how to change the country dropdown in the checkout page to your main country of residence/business…..it seems by default to show AFGHANISTAN (alphabetical), which is both inappropriate (!) and a nuisance having to scroll down all the way to UK or USA.
How could you change the selected country ??
Wouldn’t it just be easier to add the line in your php wp_list_pages to exclude the page?
It would. This solution is for people who’d rather not get inside the code :p
